Help the climate change regime with reusable sanitary pads
Women hygiene is very important,
and it is a sad thing that not a lot is done regularly in this concern. Even
more neglected is our environment, which is dying a fast death now just because
we are not looking for more sustainable energy solutions as well as
biodegradable materials for hundreds of things, which are inevitable parts of
our lives. There are somethings that we can easily leave because they are pure
luxury and simply switch to reusable and biodegradable options for example our
single use plastic cups, plates, straws and thousands of other such items.
There are however, many things, which are absolute necessities like the female
pads. The menstrual pads are inevitable, but they are made of plastic and there
are millions of tons that land in dumps every year. Sanitary pads and diapers are one of the most difficult products to
be recycled as well. Therefore, we must look for better options.
Scientists are looking for
solutions toour huge waste problems, climate change, carbon emissions and
deforestation; there are new solutions emerging every day. There are many
products that we have to give up on. Scientists are asking for a simpler
lifestyle so that plastic use is brought to low levels. Our very high standards
or hygiene and ease are leading to huge productions. Production is a disease on
its own because it leads to carbon emissions, which in turn ruins the
life-sustaining climate of our planet. The plastic production doubles the
trouble. We must do something about our plastic production, and it is a good
thing that we are coming up with reusable things. As small as it is, we should
start with sanitary pads because
although it is a small product, yet it is something that is used everywhere on
the planet and accumulate count is just magnanimous.
While the women’s pads are
something that cannot be discarded, we must go for some more sustainable
options. In the past, women used cloth and it worked for them. With time and as the world became fast
moving, women started using single-use pads seemed very convenient. There was
no need to wash and dry and you could dump them anywhere. Up till now, we saw
no issues in them but now we are can see mounting plastic waste in the
seemingly very small and innocent women’s pad. You can go for reusable sanitary pads if you want to
help your planet survive.
Reusable pads are one option;
these days, we have other solutions as well. These days, you can buy menstrual cup in the market, which is
reusable, and there is no extensive washing involved either. They are
completely safe for use and you would love the feeling of going without a pad.
